I’m out in Colorado, snowboarding with a great crew of 5 friends from Baylor. We’ve been here since the 29th and don’t leave till the 2nd. It’s been a grand time-learning to snowboard for the first time, reading, relaxing, just enjoying each other’s company.
And tonight we began our new years celebration with delicious tacos. Followed by multiple games of...

a reunion
Yesterday evening I was reunited with this lady-my lovely friend Alex. She moved to London in June of 2010 to pursue a graduate degree in PR and is now working for the Premier League for English football, a dream for her. She’s such a stud and I’m so glad to have her back in the states for a few days! We’ve been making up songs and dances, giving lots of hugs, telling stories,...
Pre-holiday work distractions
It’s pretty quiet in our office today with many people ducking out early for the holidays. Those of us that are still in the office are having fun using Send a Call From Santa & viewing The Reindeer Cam.
Spread the cheer & Merry Christmas!
I’ve been sitting on a bench along New York Harbor reading for the last hour. The warm sun is warming my face & my body. No gloves needed during this warm Tuesday afternoon. Listening to the birds, the waves, the planes above. Relaxing. This is a vacation day well spent.
On Saturday night, we were tired after the play (How to succeed in business without really trying) and we had a quiet night in. On Sunday, we ate brunch at The Standard Hotel, walked the High Line, checked out a gallery in Chelsea, grabbed a Goose Island winter brew at a pub (delicious), attended a broadway comedy (Seminar; Alan Rickman is AMAZING in it-if you live in NYC-go now), grabbed decadent...
If I could make a career out of writing handwritten notes, I would. I find such joy in sitting down to write a note of gratitude or a note just to say ‘hello’, ‘I’m thinking of you’, or ‘you did it!’. Every time I receive a handwritten note from a friend, I am filled with happiness, so I love the thought of knowing I can bring smiles to the faces of...
Dinner Party
The folks at Dinner Party, a new Chicago based company that rents and sells vintage houseware is a great new find (thanks December Dose Market). Their mission: We personally scour antique shops & estate sales to find unique & classic dinnerware to bring to your table. Well isn’t that fantastic. I’m currently kicking myself for not buying the vintage milkglass pitcher and glass...

‘Tis the season of giving. Here are some items that could be winners for your mom, roommate, best friend, sister, cousin, neighbor, teacher or even a treat for yourself during the crazy holiday season. Enjoy!

My mom makes three variations of the same soup. My sisters and I always give her a hard time about the lack of difference between them, although mom is certain they all taste different. It’s a vegetable and tomato broth based soup, which she calls ‘vegetable soup.’ Add in noodles, and watch out, it now is dubbed ‘spaghetti soup.’ The final version involved adding in the bone & remaining ham...
