After apartment searching since 9am, and a sad slow start of very disappointing showings, my future roomie MaKaela and I found something that we L.O.V.E. For Sept 1. In a neighborhood that rocks. And it’s beautiful. How did this happen!? A one day apt search, too good to be true? We’ve filled out the paper work and officially sign the lease tomorrow morning. Beyond excited (slightly...

(last night at the Bike for Cities, Cities for Bikes discussion)
Rob commended Chicago on it’s great use of public space, and said we are a model city for other places in the US to emulate (like his hometown of San Fran)
Lollapalooza wrap-up
For a girl who didn’t have tickets to the festival going into Lollapalooza two weekends ago, I sure got my music and money’s worth. I really lucked out and was able to score tickets for both Saturday and Sunday for cheaper than face value from people trying to sell outside the entrance. Here are a few weekend highlights of my first Lollapalooza experience:

the triple plank
I was recently introduced to the fad known as planking by some coworkers. My sis and her friends made a trip to the Sears Tower Skydeck this past week and performed a triple plank on the glass ledge on that high in the sky observatory level. I love this. Too good not to share.
Last Wednesday my sister Andrea, her college roommate Katie (for freshman, sophomore, and as of today, senior year) and I took Andrea’s visiting friends from McGill in Montreal to their first Cubs game. The weather was beyond perfect and we enjoyed great conversation and our vantage point from the bleacher seats in the outfield. The Cubs even brought home a win, how ‘bout that?

blog, meet my beautiful PUBLIC bike.
How rude of me. I haven’t introduced you all to my newest & dearest companion-my new bike! We’ve had about a month together of (nearly) daily bike rides along the lakefront trail, the (short, but lovely) commute to work, and weekend rides to new neighborhoods and to visit friends around downtown. It’s a PUBLIC orange C3 and she’s a beaut! (remember it from here?)...

PR at the Chicago Rock & Roll half marathon this morning! Ran into a friend at the starting line. Running with my dad & sis. Great race weather-cool and sporadic drizzles of rain. Now excuse me while I go have a celebratory breakfast & mimosa at Jam with the family, then treat my sorry-looking feet to a pedicure this afternoon.

A well-put article on how cycling helps you explore and really know your city. I have been cycling almost everyday since I got my new bike last month and I could not agree more.
summertime beauty
I’m all about simplicity in the summer. Beachy waves. Bright and polished nails for some color on my fingers and toes. Minimal makeup - just rosy lips + sun kissed cheeks. I think I’ve rocked this look all summer long so I thought I’d share some of my favorite go-to products:
1. Essie ‘Too Too Hot’ nail polish - a beautiful and bright reddish-coral color
2. Bumble and Bumble Curl Conscious...
Dallas Clayton’s thoughts on accepting opportunities.
I’ve been dog (Max) and bird (Pi) sitting for the past two days for one of my co-workers who’s out of town on business. The animals are fun, pretty easy to take care of, and I really enjoy the companionship of Max (not so keen on Pi’s sqeaky chirps). Growing up my parents never let us get a pet, which at the time made us sad, but in hindsight was a smart decision. We were crazy...

A legend.
Tonight my co-worker Jessica and I arrived at Wrigley Field with no tickets to the Paul McCartney show. We heard his show was unreal last night and decided earlier in the day that this was a concert we could not miss. After not wanting to pay $200+ for last minute tickets outside the gates, we headed up to the 3rd floor rooftop patio of Sports Corner. We saw the entire show from up there for only...
