On the radar: Heritage Bicycles General Store
Tonight I’m spending time with relatives visiting from Atlanta and Knoxville. We’re having a big family pizza party at DUE’s, sure to be complete with lots of story telling, hugs & catch up time, my favorite! But, if I didn’t have these plans I’ll tell you where I’d be going: The grand opening of The Heritage General Store from 6-11 pm tonight. The concept is simple: a coffee + bike shop in one (but why hasn’t someone in this city thought about it before now?!) When you combine 2 of my favorite things I give that a big thumbs up!

The design aesthetic is clean and beautiful. A large communal table up front, a bike production and repair shop in the back. Both Heritage Bicycle and Bowery Lane Bicycle lines will be assembled on-site, available for sale and on display for a test drive. The shop will sell Stumptown coffee and fresh-baked pastries, along with a selection of locally-made gear and clothes.
I’m going to call it now: this will become my new favorite go-to place in Chicago. Can’t wait to bring a book and ride on over there tomorrow. Welcome to the neighborhood!
Heritage Bicycles General Store // 2959 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago
