On April 26, 2011 I was fortunate enough to attend the Austin show (5th stop out of 6) on the Railroad Revival Tour. It was an amazing day of musical magic shared with a great friend Samantha (we went through a lot to get those tickets!). Hours of music performed in the Texas heat by Mumford & Sons, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes, & Old Crow Medicine Show, what an amazing day it was! It was publicized during the show that a documentary would be made about the journey from Oakland, CA to New Orleans by train, and I’ve just found out that the documentary has a name-Big Easy Express-and will have its world premiere at SXSW on March 17th. Watch the trailer here and get as excited as I am to hopefully see the full documentary soon. Can we get a Chicago theater to show it next, please?
(also realized that I never posted about the concert experience this past Spring so pics & stories to come!)
