I took the train home tonight. Mom made an awesome dinner - pork tenderloin, roasted broccoli and corn on the cob-first of the season! Mom, dad, Andrea and I all sitting around the dinner table, what a wonderful and rare occurrence. Dinnertime conversation leaned toward politics; we talked about Scott Walker, Wisconsin, the Equal Pay Act and more. Dad is so knowledgeable and well informed about politics and I’m always interested in hearing his opinions. Tonight brought me back to the days in my childhood (before I could drive) where day would pick me and a friend up from gymnastics practice multiple times throughout the week and drive us home. He would always choose a different finance or political lesson for each car ride and we’d absorb it all in, asking tons of questions. I miss getting to have that much quality time with my dad now that I’m an adult. I need to figure out a way to get a daily dose of his wisdom!
